As I mentioned in my previous post, August was a busy time. It was a big month of change for Lucy, as we changed from a full time nanny, which we had for almost 2 years, to 3 days per week of pre-school and a new nanny 2 days per week. Lucy was a bit worried at first with all that change, and she usually did not want to be left alone in the morning. As Mr. Dropoff (Michelle is Mrs. Pickup), I had the pleasure of witnessing, no participating in, the morning 'transition'. This usually consisted of crying, screaming, and the grabbing of Daddy's leg and not letting go. The 'how could you leave me here Daddy' stares were the toughest. But I am happy to report that within two weeks the transition was much easier, and now I can usually get Lucy to push me out the door.
We also went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, aka Marine World for all you locals. Michelle's work had a family day there and we had a great time. Lucy enjoyed the rides, the Shouka the killer whale show, and, of course, her favorite pastime, eating (especially dessert).
Finally, I celebrated the big 3-8 at the end of August. Michelle planned out a Hawaiian-themed birthday party, including Hawaiian leis, Hawaiian food, Hawaiian shirts, and the like. Thanks to everyone who showed up. We had a great time!
